Our little Cora turned ONE year old on June 7th! We celebrated here in Santiago, Dominican Republic, in the back yard of the YWAM base. It was a bright and beautiful day, we had a “make your own” cupcake bar, and yummy sodas to enjoy. Olivia and I made her little cake the night before after running around town to every “colmado” to find the right ingredients! Cora poked at it and gently pitched little pieces of sprinkles from the cake and her eyes would get big after tasting them. Everyone was around her encouraging her to, “Smash the cake Cora! You can do it! Just go for it!” But she continued to just poke and pinch. We had a great time of prayer for her and I was overwhelmed with gratitude for all the love our team has for our little girl. Do I really have a ONE year old? Its true what they say about motherhood, the days are long but the years are short. I feel like this year as flown by, and my little girl has grown way too fast. Oh, Cora don’t grow too fast! Before I get to sentimental, here are the photos…
Happy Birthday, Cora Rose! You are loved more deeply than you will ever know.
Yesterday was this guys 25th BIRTHDAY!
I am so beyong thankful for Josh. He is a genuine, honest, hilarious, hardworking guy, and I couldn’t be more thankful to be his wife. He is one of the good ones, and someone to be truly celebrated. There are so many people back home that would have been a part of celebrating this day with us but, becuase of that huge body of water between us and the states I had to find another alternative.
I had a “happy birthday book of notes” made from many of Joshs friends and family for him to read the morning of his birthday. Some letters hilarious, some pretty touching, but all made him feel very loved. Thank you to all who sent your kind words to him!
Donut mountain birthday breakfast!
Meatballs for dayzzz…Lunch at IKEA. Seriously the best food ever.
That evening a bunch of the staff and their adorable British/Swiss/German kiddos came over for ice-cream and coffee. We are so incredibly thankful for the community we have here. The kids love him.
Shelby totally won the best gift award. An American can of Creme of Mushroom soup(Joshs favorite thing ever) and homemade Swiss bread. You can’t find Creme of Mushroom Soup in Switzerland, so this was a. Big. Deal.
HAPPY 25 YEARS JOSH!
